Voyager of the Seas Cruise Review

7 night Med Cruise - 13th Oct 2007 - Angela

Angela

This was our first cruise holiday as a family after finally persuading my husband to give it a go. He had never been keen to go on a cruise as he thought it would be too stuffy and the children thought there would be nothing for them to do. How wrong they were!!!!

We were on our cruise during the October school week and there were lots of families on board which gave the cruise a relaxing feel. We signed Rebecca, 12 and Sophie 7, up to their respective kids clubs on the first day and hardly saw them for the rest of the week! The facilities for children were second to none and for Rebecca's age group they did things like DJ training, ice skating, karaoke and dance parties. Sophie's club was manned from early in the morning until 10pm at night, however, you could keep them in from 10pm -1am at $5 per hour per child. The staff would even take them for lunch and dinner if you wanted. They did great things like pirate parades through the Royal Promenade, adventure art and basketball.

When we could tear them away from the Adventure Ocean clubs we played mini golf (the ship has a nine hole course), basketball on the sports court , rock wall climbing and in-line skating. Rebecca also gave ice-skating a go.

My husband and I enjoyed more time together this week than we have since the children were born and we could relax knowing that they were in safe hands. The shows on Voyager of the Seas were fantastic especially the Broadway and ice skating show. The food was great, my children are very fussy and they were well catered for and said they loved the food on board.

This holiday was a huge success and the children said it was the best holiday they had been on and after talking to fellow passengers (many of them cruising for the first time) they all felt the same. The cruise was so great that we have booked another one for next year.
