Families of all sizes and ages love Ocean Village.  And it’s easy to see why. Ocean Village is informal – which means no rushing to get the kids dressed up in time for meals. You can wear what you choose on board and eat when you fancy it, 24/7 if you like. Whether you prefer to dine as a family, or eat at different times, you can do whatever suits you. And as all buffet dining is included in your fare, you don’t need to worry about running up a huge bill either. Our ships are well-kitted out for kids from 6 months to 17 years and their safety onboard remains our greatest priority. As well as a fully staffed kids centre, there are netted decks and family pools. Kids can’t get enough of it...

On board yes – bored never. From fun-loving two-year-olds to too-cool-to-talk-teens, there’s so much going on for kids, you might barely see them. Base Camp is where the action takes place. Our friendly, fully-trained staff rustle up a bunch of fun activities for 2-17 years from 9am till late. There’s a wall of free video consoles with beanbags to slouch in, plus ball pools, soft play zones and a stretch of netted deck. Older kids also have their own area to hang out in and do whatever teens do.

Fancy a night out as a couple for a change? You’re in luck. Your little ones can snooze in our supervised night nursery while you party. When it comes to going ashore there’s a raft of family-friendly trips to choose from including waterparks, aquariums, beach breaks and pizza- making. In peak season, children can enjoy themselves at Base Camp while their parents head off to explore. Teenagers can even dump their parents and hitch up with their mates on a Great Escapes trip ashore with the youth staff. What price holiday harmony? Taking younger kids on our holidays

6 months to 8 years

Base Camp: Enthusiastic and fully qualified youth staff welcome all children at the Base Camp centres, where kids can immerse themselves in a world of ballparks, Playstations, films, games and activities. The centres extends outdoors with a special family play area with netted railings and a paddling pool.

The children’s programmes are scheduled daily from 9am - midnight, dependent on age, with breaks for lunch and dinner, and is free whilst one parent/guardian stays on board.
6 months – under 2 years

Babies and toddlers are welcome at Base Camp as long as a parent or guardian stays with them. During peak season cruises you can also enjoy some ‘mum and dad’ time ashore and leave your little ones in the safe hands of the youth staff*.
Night Nursery

If you fancy a meal as a couple in the Bistro followed by a boogie in the nightclub, then you can enjoy an evening without the kids by taking them to the supervised night nursery in Base Camp. Open until 3am for children aged 6 months to 5 years (5-8’s are also welcome if space permits), it’s free until midnight†. There’s also an in-cabin baby listening facility available via the cabin telephone which means you can call your cabin from anywhere on the ship to check on your children.

Kids will find it hard to be bored at Base Camp where there’s always tons of stuff going on to keep them amused. With so much to do they’re sure to work up an appetite for the kids tea, served daily from 5.15-6pm. Typical activities are listed.

• Older kids on family holidays

9-17 years (9-12s and 13-17s in peak periods)

Base Camp & Teen Zone

Older kids needn’t worry about hanging out with younger brothers or sisters or even mum and dad! Among other things, Base Camp has a whole wall of free to use computer games and teens have even got their own club* tucked away where they can (mostly!) do whatever they like to do. They even have the option of going ashore without mum and dad.

On both ships, Base Camp is open until midnight for children aged 9 and over, and during school holidays the hours are extended and extra activities are laid on. They also have their own zone – The Hideout on Ocean Village and The Attic on Ocean Village Two – with loads of things to keep them entertained like art and crafts, sports, game shows, pool games, workshops, quizzes, movies, Playstations and a club dinner. Great Escapes

Great news for older kids – time ashore without mum and dad! Perfect if the family all want to do different things – and a great way for teens to spend a day ashore with their mates! During peak season in the Med, 9-17 year olds can go ashore on a range of specially selected activities that are escorted by members of our Youth Team. Trips include Marineland from St Raphael and Villefranche, the Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona and hiking up Mount Vesuvius in Naples. Please visit the Action Ashore desk once on board to book.
